International Recognition
The International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO-08) has been revised. Medical Physicists are classified under group 2111 “Physicists and Astronomers”; however, in the revised classification, a specific note was added, to reflect the role of Medical Physicists in health care. This is a positive step towards the full recognition of the medical physics profession as a health care profession and is the result of a fruitful collaboration between the IAEA, IOMP and WHO
