Case of the month
Dear Human Health Campus Visitor
The Section of Nuclear Medicine and Diagnostic Imaging at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) would like to thank you for your interest in our educational material, we hope that the information provided in the site will benefit you and your patients.
Recognizing the needed for further improvement, with particular attention to education and the needs of professionals working in developing countries, we would like to make available a new set of interactive clinical cases in nuclear cardiology, developed by our partner, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) and in particular the IAEA consultant Mr. Joao Vitola, MD, PhD (cardiologist and nuclear medicine physician). This training exercise can be of benefit to the international nuclear community, both at the trainee level and for doctors already practicing nuclear cardiology.
The successful practice of Nuclear Cardiology worldwide depends on several aspects, but appropriate indications, recognition of artifacts, integration of medical history and exercise findings, and image analysis are all essential. Additionally, integration of nuclear cardiology with other advanced imaging modalities is crucial to a modern practice.
These cases are accessible for free over the internet by clicking here https://asnc-cc.quantamn.com.br
These cases are presented in a novel format, which allows interaction with the reader and commenting on the questions and answers. A follow-up is provided to all participants. This follow-up will be based on appropriate use criteria and solid information rooted in scientific guidelines.
We thank you for your time and attention, and hope that you will make use of this excellent educational tool.
Best wishes,
Human Health Campus Team
