NAHU 2017 - Alzheimer's Side Event
General Conference 2017 - NEUROPSYCHIATRY: The Revolution of Molecular Imaging in Alzheimer's Disease
Of the current 44 million people suffering from dementia worldwide, two-thirds live in developing countries; it is also in these countries that the largest increase in numbers is predicted to occur in the coming decades. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia. The underlying disease process starts to develop several years before symptoms are noticed. The event addresses the vital role of diagnostic imaging in the differential diagnosis of dementia, early recognition of disease progression, initiation of time - sensitive therapy and monitoring of treatment.
