ISCORN 2013

This will be the first time that Italy hosts the ISCORN meeting, and also a welcome opportunity to celebrate our history and to look forward to gathering together. We all know that from the first meeting in 1967 our discipline has undergone impressive development in all areas. Nuclear Medicine has gained ever-increasing importance in nephrourologic disease. Adding to its traditional functional role, which remains unique and fully integrated into basic diagnostics, is the metabolic and molecular information provided by positron emitting radiopharmaceuticals. Their use encompasses research activities, clinical practice and evidence-based guidelines. ISCORN has contributed greatly in promoting the knowledge and integration of our discipline in medical practice, acting as an strong source of support in advancing science and education throughout Europe and beyond.
