Eluting the Generator
As the preparation of a radiopharmaceutical requires that a radionuclide is mixed with a labelling kit, the radionuclide must be obtained. In our preparation example, we will use 99mTc in the form of pertechnetate, which may be obtained by eluting a technetium generator. The resulting radionuclide is often called the eluate.
Information on the generator and more information on how it is eluted can be found in the Generator Module.
